This project was a bit of a unique journey, as the study area was incorporated into the home a few years after the initial construction was completed. The clients had a clear vision for this space – they wanted it to be a showstopper. Their non-negotiable requests included a vibrant, eye-catching colour scheme that would leave anyone entering the room in awe. However, there was a catch; the study area needed to harmoniously coexist within the open-plan layout of the house.
Our Creative Solution
When we approached this project, we were excited about the emerging trend of using blue cabinetry, which was becoming increasingly popular. The decision to go with this vibrant shade was a no-brainer, especially since it aligned perfectly with the client’s firm requests.
To create a cohesive and appealing look, we incorporated a light woodmatt benchtop and added some sleek floating shelves. It was all about making this space not only functional but also a true extension of the home’s overall aesthetic. The blend of trendy blue cabinetry with the warm woodmatt benchtop and the stylish floating shelving resulted in a study nook that effortlessly harmonised with the house’s design, creating a welcoming and on-trend atmosphere that was both practical and visually pleasing.
